Epson Imaging Devices Corporation, formerly known as Sanyo Epson Imaging Devices Corporation, started operations on October 1, 2004, originally established as a joint venture of Seiko Epson Corporation and Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. On December 28, 2006, the company became a wholly owned Epson subsidiary and changed its name.
